I am planning a trip for my family and am debating between Spring Break of 2013 or that summer. We want to make sure that the new fantasyland experience is open. Which dates (March or July) would be best?

Welcome to the Moms Panel D'Lana!

The Fantasyland Expansion is indeed exciting and I can hardly wait!!! But I guess I'll have to find a way.

Although no specific dates are given for the opening of the attractions, the Disney Parks Blog is reporting that the expanded Fantasyland is scheduled to open in phases, beginning in late 2012 with most new experiences open by 2013.

Visiting in March would have the advantage of cooler temperatures. July is typically hot. However, since they haven't announced the completion date at this time, you may have a better chance of more attractions being open in July 2013.

Here's what I'd do - I'd hold off on making my decision right now. As we get into 2012, we should hopefully get a better idea of when attractions will be begin to open. We may also get a better idea of a completion time frame. When Disney gives everyone a better idea of where things stand, you'll be able to make a good decision for your family.

For updates on this awesome project, keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog. If you're on twitter, follow @DisneyParks and @WaltDisneyWorld.

If it looks like Fantasyland will be completed by March of 2013, I'd make my reservations to travel at that time.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison
