Hi, there!
Erin, I'm so excited to hear you're planning a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation with a little one in tow. Yay! I just enjoyed a "split-stay" between Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Contemporary Resort this summer, so I'm happy to give you advice about which to choose for your visit.
The tropical, laidback vibe and island atmosphere at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is such a nice contract to all the adventure to be found in the theme parks. My family enjoyed the lush landscaping, beautiful views, and glowing tiki-torches throughout the resort. My kids (8-years old, 6-years old, and 1-year old) especially loved the Lava Pool. My daughter couldn't get enough of the zero-depth entry point where she could toddle through the water and sit and splash to her heart's content. She also loved following her brothers through Kiki Tikis Splash Play Area. If you're planning on visiting in early fall next year, the pool will be a big hit with your little one! We also thought the dining options at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort were awesome. I highly recommend a breakfast reservation at 'Ohana - delicious and super fun!
Disney's Contemporary Resort is a great choice with walkable access to Magic Kingdom Park, fantastic dining options (we LOVE Chef Mickey's), and incredible views, but I don't think the rooms or pools are as kid-friendly and fun as those at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. I also found Disney's Contemporary Resort to be a little less peaceful.
Erin, the good news is - no matter which Resort hotel you choose, you are SURE to have a magical stay. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
