We are planning a trip in the fall & making all the decisions about staying, eating & doing. I heard that you could decline mousekeeping and choose to exchange your own linens. Is this an option? Are there restrictions on exchange times?

    Hi Jennifer!

Welcome BACK to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for being a long-time friend and stopping by to see us again.

Walt Disney World Resort introduced a pilot program in 2017 where certain Disney Resort Hotels randomly selected guests who were given the option to decline the traditional Mousekeeping service of light cleaning and new linens for their whole stay in exchange for a Disney e-gift card. The terms of the offer are that guests will receive a $10 credit-per- night-minus-one for the entire length of your trip. (That minus one night is because everything will be changed and cleaned anyway on check-out day.) So a seven night, eight day visit would be a $60 gift card. Those opting in to this offer may certainly request new towels and any bath products they may need throughout their stay.

This is still technically considered a pilot program in testing mode, which means changes could happen at any time. The Disney Resort Hotels that are participating seem to be testing this option for only a few months at a time, and then another batch of hotels will try it out. I don't have the proper magic mirror to see which resort hotels are or are not participating, however the wonderful Cast Members at the Disney Resort Hotel Reservation phone line should have a bit more insight. They may be reached at (407) 939-1936 between 7 A.M. and 11 P.M. EST daily. And remember, not all guests are asked if they'd like to opt in at check-in but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I hope this helped, Jennifer, and We'll See You Real Soon!
