We are planning a trip for early 2013. We are pretty flexible, but want to go at the best time as far as crowds, avoiding big events, etc. What are the best times for January or february? Times to avoid? Thank you!

    Hi Elizabeth!

This is a great question.  I suggest visiting the independent website TouringPlans.com.  Touring Plans is the website for the research team behind the tour book "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World".  They are famous in the Disney fan community for producing a crowd calendar that predicts the crowd levels in the parks on various days.  They have done a lot of math and have years of data to make their various recommendations.  As an engineer, I am a huge fan of their work.  Gaining access to their site requires a small subscription fee, but I think it is a great bargain.  That will also give you access to Lines, their mobile wait time application.

That said, the only really busy times in January and February are the first few days after the new year, Marathon Weekend in January, Martin Luther King Junior Weekend in January, and President's Day Weekend in February.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
