Welcome to Disney Parks Moms Panel, Haley!
My family often visits
Walt Disney World over a race weekend, and the
Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend is a great one!
To be honest, you'll be able to navigate the parks even
during the various events of a
runDisney race weekend, so either the week prior or the week after will be fine times to visit. There will be runners and families who make this event part of a longer vacation, so crowd levels will be a bit higher on either end of the events. (However, many of my running friends like to stay in the parks
after the events so that they can enjoy
Epcot International Food & Wine Festival a bit more, without worrying about interfering with their training routine.)
An additional calendar consideration is
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which often runs through November 1. Should you arrive that weekend,
Magic Kingdom Park will close to regular Park Guests at 6:00 on the night of a Party, rather than its later closing time. Keep that in mind while planning your arrival and picking your park days. If joining in the ghoulish good fun intrigues you, be sure to arrive that first week, and purchase a ticket for this event well in advance; you won't experience anything quite like it at any other time in the parks!
Of course, if you'd like to experience Walt Disney World in its
holiday finest, arriving later in November will be key.
Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort include even more sparkle, so if you plan your visit that later week, you'll be amazed by
extra-special magic throughout each park and resort.
As you plan your visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth, Haley, be sure to send us more questions. We love to help!
