    Planning 6th trip for early Nov and can't decide on a resort. Help! Choices include AKL, CS, and Swan. What would you recommend for our family of 4 (DS-12&15). Any disadvantage to a non-Disney hotel? Would we miss the "magic"? Thank you

    There's nothing quite like a 6th trip to Walt Disney World!...except maybe a 7th trip! :)
    Of the resort choices you list, I would absolutely choose Animal Kingdom Lodge for its theming, food and animals! However, the Swan would be a close second, mostly due to its proximity to EPCOT, the Boardwalk and Hollywood Studios.
    There are several benefits to staying ON property including the Disney transportation system, free theme park parking if you have a rental car, and access to Extra Magic Hours, to name a few.
    Whether or not you would be "missing" the Magic depends on how much your family appreciates staying at a Disney resort, and seeing how this is your 6th time, I get the feeling you guys know how great it is! Although there is absolutely nothing wrong with staying off-property, I personally can't imagine doing it unless for budgetary constraints.
