Hi Jennifer,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! December is such a special time of year to visit the Walt Disney World Resort - the resort hotels are beautifully decorated for the season and many of the characters are dressed in their festive best!
We love to stay at Disney's Contemporary Resort to be within walking distance of Magic Kingdom. The walk is about 10 minutes and is easy to navigate even with little ones. We adore this resort hotel because it also has great dining experiences including
Chef Mickey's and
California Grill. Some of the rooms have theme park views so you can watch the Happily Ever After fireworks from your balcony. Disney's Contemporary Resort also has access to the Resort Monorail. So, you could catch the monorail to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort or Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for other dining experiences. We love to dine at 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and 1900 Park Fare at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
To be within walking distance to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios, we are staying at Disney's BoardWalk Inn this summer. You could also try Disney's Beach Club Resort or Disney's Yacht Club Resort.
Disney's BoardWalk area is lovely, especially in the evening. There are several restaurants in the area that you could try including Trattoria al Forno, which has a character breakfast.
Jennifer, I suggest that you book your package as soon as possible - December can be a popular time to visit!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
