We are planning a trip to DW in September for myself, my wife and two girls. We are trying to decide which dining plan to choose. My question is are the Table service meals the equivalent of two quick service meals or just one? Thanks. Charles

    Hi Charles!

I suggest looking at the menus for the various Table Service and Quick Service restaurants in Walt Disney World.  My favorite site for menus is AllEars.Net and their address is www.allears.net.  The site is fabulous!

I would not say a Table Service meal is the equivalent of two Quick Service meals.  Many times, you can select a Quick Service meal that would be larger than a Table Service Meal in a particular theme park.  Instead I would say the experiences are different.  While I'm sure people will disagree with me, I tend to think of Table Service meals like something you would get in a high quality full service restaurant at home; I tend to think of Quick Service as something you would get in a fast food restaurant.  That''s not 100% accurate and some Quick Service locations, such as the Sunshine Season Food Fair in Epcot, has great high quality food.  But I hope it gets my point across.

My family loves Table Service restaurants.  We try to do at least one, usually lunch or dinner, each day.  It gives a chance for everybody to sit down and relax and be served.  The food is usually wonderful.  However, eating in a Table Service restaurant can be much slower and takes away time from touring a park.  I usually plan on an hour to an hour and a half for each Table Service meal.

Which is better?  I can't answer that.  Every family is different and is looking for different things when visiting Walt Disney World.  Some families wouldn't dream of spending the time or money in a Table Service Restaurant.  My family would miss the amazing Table Service restaurants, especially the Disney Character Dining experiences.  You can get more information on the dining plans here.

Good luck and write back if you have any more questions!
