Hi Heidi!
Thank you for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Planning a Walt Disney World vacation is fun and exciting, and yes, it can be overwhelming, too. The first thing I would do is decide on your budget. Disney offers different hotels for different budgets - from Value Resort hotels to Deluxe Villas.
I truly love hotels in each of the categories for different reasons. I love the Value Resort hotels for their giant icons that my kids love. It screams Disney! My favorite is
Disney's Pop Century Resort. The rooms are getting a brand new look, and they are gorgeous! Queen beds and more storage space make it my number one choice.
For Moderate Resort hotels, my favorite is
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. The quaint feel, New Orleans theme, and beignets for breakfast seal the deal. If your son loves to swim, then I would check out Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, too, because they have an awesome pool!
With the Deluxe Resort hotels, you pay for location and amenities. Their proximity to the theme parks, allowing me to walk to Magic Kingdom Park or Epcot is hard to pass up. Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is my favorite, because of the island vibe, Dole Whips at the resort, and monorail access. However, Disney's Contemporary Resort runs a close second, because how cool is it to have the monorail run through your hotel? And
Disney's Beach Club Resort has Stormalong Bay which is arguably the best pool on Disney property.
Good luck with your decision! In my opinion, 6 nights is better than 5. If you have any other questions, please come back and see us real soon!
