Hello! Planning a trip to DW 4 May '14! Thinking of staying in a mod resort. Out of all mod resorts, which is the best? which is closer to the park entrance for buses? Stayed at Value Music May '13 and it was such a long walk 2 the park entrance!

    Hi there, Eva!

How exciting that you're starting to plan a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort in May! I love visiting during Epcot's Annual International Flower and Garden Festival!

We have stayed at the Value Resorts before and I know what you mean about the long walk up to the main entrance where the bus stop is. Unless you upgraded to a preferred room, it can be a tiring walk to your room after a very busy day of Park touring.

My favorite Resort hotel in the Moderate category is Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. I absolutely love the look and feel of the grounds as it's themed around the REAL historic French Quarter in New Orleans, LA. The entire property is small with just over 1,000 Guest rooms [compared to Pop Century's approximately 2,800] and only one bus stop. I absolutely love the feel with all of the wrought-iron railings and cobblestone walkways. Also, the Mardi Gras-themed Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory is a festive and convenient eatery that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner along with one of my family's favorites...fresh beignets!

It's hard to say which one of the Moderate Resorts is best per-say, because they're all beautiful and have their own charm. I had a chance to tour one of the Royal Rooms at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and the room as well as the grounds were absolutely gorgeous. The Resort is themed to resemble the Mississippi-bayou area of the Old South and has approximately 2,000 rooms.

I sure hope this helps with your decision, Eva! Please let us know if we can help with any other questions you have as you plan!

Wishing you a Pixie Dusted vacation!
