Planning our 2nd trip to DW in May of 2014. Not sure if going to add the dining plan. If we don't add when making trip reservations, can it be added prior to start of trip? And if we decide not to get dining plan, can we still make dining reservations?

    Hi Heidi,

There are always so many decisions to be made when planning that "perfect" Disney vacation. No matter what you choose, I'm sure you'll make magical memories.

The Disney Dining Plan is an option you can add to a Magic Your Way reservation. If you've booked your hotel and park tickets through Walt Disney World, it's possible you can still add the plan prior to your vacation. I believe you need to make that change 72 hours prior to your arrival, but I recommend calling (407)939-6244 to discuss the details of your reservation.

Even if you don't have the dining plan, you can (and should) make reservations as early as possible. You can begin making them 180 days prior to your arrival. Some of the more popular restaurants fill up rather quickly, so I recommend making them early.

Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
