Hello!! We are planning a trip to DW in July 2013. Our kids will be 11 (boy) & 7 (girl). We would like to say in one of the deluxe villas but know that some of them are pretty large with lots of walking. Do you have suggestions that would help us deci

    Hello, Joe!

This is a great time to plan your July 2013 trip to Walt Disney World, as you'll be far more likely to get the exact villa and dates that you'd like since it's still fairly early.

If staying at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, which is large, request the Congress Park area; you can walk to Downtown Disney, yet take the resort bus to the main pool and resort restaurants. If you stay at SS, rely on resort buses to take you from your villa to the main area of the resort and back again; they run every few minutes. At Bay Lake Tower, any location is great, in addition to being convenient to Magic Kingdom (a very short walk or monorail ride) and Epcot (monorail.) Disney's Beach Club Resort puts Guests steps away from Epcot's "back entrance" at the International Gateway (between England and France) as well as a short walk or ride to Disney's Hollywood Studios. We dine in Epcot frequently, and the convenience of the location of this resort area simply cannot be beat for that purpose.

Similarly, Disney's Old Key West Resort is spread out, but resort buses are an easy way to get from the Hospitality House to anywhere else on property. We request buildings 23, 24, 25 or 26 so that we can walk to the main pool, catch a bus at a stop right in front of our building AND have the option of walking to another stop nearby (Send me another question for more info on that tip; it's a timesaver!)

We love staying in a savannah-view villa at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge (we are partial to Kidani Village over Jambo) but those villas are usually quite far from the lobby and bus stop. (We did need to request a villa near the elevator or lobby this past month since we were traveling with two family members with mobility issues and were delighted to have received the villa right next to the elevator.)

I hope this helps! Send more questions as you decide among all of the wonderful deluxe villas available to Guests at WDW; I'd love to help more!
