We’re planning a trip during Presidents’ Day holiday and want to get 2 day hopper passes. Do we need reservations to enter the park?

Hello there Cathy, thank you for stopping by planDisney with your great question!

We have visited during mid-February several times, it's such a lovely time of year to visit!  The weather is usually so pleasant, and it always gave us something to look forward to during the winter months.

Yes, you will need both theme park tickets and a corresponding theme park reservation to enter the theme parks.  We love to add the park hopper option since it is so convenient to hop between both parks, and then you can get the best of both worlds in one day!  After you purchase your tickets, you'll be prompted to make your reservations as well.  Every person in your party will need both a theme park ticket and a theme park reservation for each day you plan on visiting the parks.

Any holiday weekend can bring more crowds into the parks, but do not fret, there are plenty of ways to avoid waiting in longer lines.  My first tip is to get to the parks early for "rope drop", where you'll arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the parks opening.  The Cast Members will hold you at a rope until the park opens, and drop the rope when it's time to enter!  We always find that we can get so much accomplished those first few hours in the parks.

Another recommendation is to purchase Disney Genie+ Service, which will give you access to Lightning Lane entrances, and shorter wait times!  It is a must for us each time we visit, and I always recommend securing Lightning Lane selections for Indiana Jones Adventure in Disneyland Park and Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! in Disney California Adventure Park since both of those tend to be more popular throughout the day.

Best of luck getting all of the details set for your trip Cathy!  If we can be of help with any other questions, please come back and ask!

    Have a magical day!
