    We are planning a trip to Disneyworld in October. My question is about Magic Bands. We still have our Magic Bands from our trip in 2019 can we use those again or do we need to get new ones for our trip?

    Hi Dianne! Thanks for visiting planDisney with your great question about MagicBands!

    MagicBands are said to have a battery life of about two years. Some Guests report that they have bands that have exceeded even that time! While your MagicBands from two years ago will most likely work, I don’t like to take a chance that they won’t! I tend to buy new bands if they are older than two years. I like to visit shopDisney.com when it's time to order new bands! Additional band choices are available in your My Disney Experience account once you book a vacation!

    Diane, while many of us do love our MagicBands, the Walt Disney World Resort recently introduced Disney MagicMobile! This new technology is accessible on your mobile device through your My Disney Experience account. It essentially replaces the need for a MagicBand. Disney MagicMobile contains the features of a MagicBand in your mobile device! Another benefit is that Disney MagicMobile is also far more contactless than MagicBands! It might be worthwhile exploring this new technology as an alternative to MagicBands. The customizable features in your My Disney Experience account make this new technology a pretty cool (and convenient) way to experience the Disney Parks!
