Hello, We are planning a trip to Disneyworld in November for my Mom's 80th Birthday. Will we need to call ahead to have handicap access with a wheelchair? Do we have to pay the nightly parking fee if we have a handicap permit from our state?

    Hi Ronald!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  I am so happy you stopped by with another question about traveling to The Most Magical Place on Earth.  It's my pleasure to help you out today.

First off, what a milestone birthday your Mom will be celebrating.  Please be sure to note this big event on your reservations,  you never know what surprises may show up at a dining event.   I hope she has the most fantastic birthday possible.  It is helpful to let the reservation agent know that your mother will be using a wheelchair.  When you let the reservation agent know they will note your portfolio and all reservations will be updated.   You won't have to call ahead to restaurants as they can accomodate wheelchairs without problems.

Parking will be available to you in the handicap areas of the Resort and Theme Parks,  however you will still need to pay the nightly parking fee at your Disney Resort hotel unless you made your reservation before March 21, 2018 or you are staying at a campsite at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.    The parking fee will be applied to your hotel folio.  I do encourage you to bring along your handicap parking permit as you will need it to park in the spaces designated for Guests who need them.

I hope this has helped.  Please enjoy your visit and stop by again if we can answer any other questions for you.
