Hi Denise! I’m so happy to welcome you to planDisney! What a magical holiday visit you have in store at Walt Disney World Resort! There is so much to share with you, let’s dive right in.
First, let’s talk about where to stay! With a party of five and the goal that no one sleeps on a sofa bed, I have two suggestions for you. First, the family suites at
Disney’s All-Star Music Resort would be perfect! I was in one just last week, and they are amazing for a group your size. The family suites can sleep up to six adults. You’ll have two pull-down queen beds in the main living area. These would be great for your sons and sister. Those beds fold up when you aren’t sleeping and provide space for a dining table and sofa. In the master bedroom, there is an additional queen bed. The suite also comes with two bathrooms and a kitchenette that has a full-size refrigerator and microwave. The kitchenette is perfect for making a quick breakfast in the morning, but two bathrooms is a gamechanger with teenagers!
The second recommendation I have for you is to book two rooms at any of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels. You’ll have to book these rooms separately, but you can then
call to speak with a Cast Member who can link your reservations. They can also put in a request for connecting or adjoining rooms. Although requests are not guaranteed, the Cast Members at the resort will do their best to make that happen, if possible.
Now for what to do…the possibilities are endless! I would recommend at least one park per day, and you can even add a Park Hopper to your tickets to give you more flexibility. I love the Park Hopper because you can go to more than one park in a single day and revisit your favorite attractions. If your boys are thrill seekers, don’t miss TRON / Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom! It’s my favorite attraction in any of the parks and is absolutely exhilarating! They will also love Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT, Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring the Muppets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Flight of Passage at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, just to name a few. Also be sure to spend some extra time checking out all of the details in the immersive lands like Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Pandora - The World of Avatar, and Toy Story Land.
Also, because it’s
the most magical time of the year at Walt Disney World, there are amazing holiday events happening. Check out the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays and the Candlelight Processional, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom, and Disney Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Any of these events are the perfect way to celebrate the holiday season!
