We are planning a trip to Disneyworld and my daughters grandma resides in Orlando. Is she able to purchase tickets at the resident price for our family? Or only for members under 18?

Greetings from the Sunshine State, Kirsten! Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your question. Let’s get to planning a magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation for your family!

One of the great things about living in Florida is sharing our love of Disney with friends and family who come to visit. Florida residents do get discounts on multi-day tickets, but each adult who plans to use one must show proof of Florida residency before activating their tickets. But there is still some pixie dust that could come your way, Kirsten, because residents can buy tickets for Guests under age 18! Grandma will just need to provide her proof of Florida residency, and you’re ready for the fun to begin! Just keep in mind that there aren’t any discounts on single-day tickets, so if you only plan to spend one day in a Theme Park, you won’t need any special ID.

And remember, before you hit the Theme Parks, you'll need to make a Disney Park Pass reservation. All you need are your tickets and a My Disney Experience account, and before you know it, you can start dreaming of all the Mickey-shaped snacks you'll be eating!

Kirsten, while you’re making your plans, be sure to check out planDisney’s Panel Extras page. That’s where we’ve compiled lots of tips to help make sure your vacation is practically perfect in every way!

I hope this helps you have a magical visit to Walt Disney World, Kirsten. Please come see us again if you have any more questions!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
