We are planning a trip to Disneyland sometime between May 21-May 31 2023. Can you please confirm when will all the rides be open? We heard from friends that they went in the month of December and not all rides were open. Also, what are the new rides?

    Hello, Jonathan, welcome to planDisney!

May is a lovely time to visit the Disneyland Resort, and your timing is perfect to enjoy the celebration of the 100-year history of Disney magic from The Walt Disney Company at the heart of it all – Disneyland Resort! You will enjoy many time-limited experiences, new merchandise, Disney characters in new costumes, nighttime spectaculars and much more!

Jonathan, while the Magic is back, kindly refer to the official Disneyland Resort – Returning to a Land of Magic for details regarding operational guidelines throughout the destination, including Disneyland Resort theme park updates where you will see exactly which attractions and rides are operational and any applicable advisories.

While many Guests continue to enjoy the beloved Disneyland Resort attractions and entertainment, the highlighted attractions recently include thrills at Avengers Campus and adventures at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the Pacific Wharf area will be transformed into "Big Hero 6" San Franksokyo which was reported to include a meet and greet opportunity with Baymax. Look for new Disney characters including Hulk, Mandalorian Din Djarin and Grogu, the new experience with World of Color One at Disney California Adventure Park and Wondrous Journey’s among some new experiences announced recently. Mickey’s Toontown is set to open early in the year featuring the installation of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, a most entertaining attraction and later in 2024, we can all look forward to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure which is said to replace Splash Mountain. Jonathan, to keep up with all the upcoming adventures and experiences kindly refer to the official Disney Parks Blog for more details and the most up to date information.

When building your Disneyland Resort vacation package, or if purchasing your stand-alone theme park tickets, please associate or link your vacation package or tickets to your Disney account to manage planning via My Disneyland. Jonathan, you will need to secure the required Disneyland Resort – Theme Park Reservations for each day of valid admission at this time.

It is a good idea to consider adding the Disney Genie+ Service as a theme park ticket option during your purchase. This service will not only save you time waiting in lines for attractions that offer the Lightning Lane entrance, but you will enjoy unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital downloads from your day (subject to change and availability).

Jonathan, it was my pleasure assisting a fellow Canadian Disney fan, please stop by planDisney for any other planning questions, we look forward to assisting your further.

    Best Disney Wishes!
