We are planning a trip to Disneyland for our nations 250th birthday on the 4th of July. I can’t find anywhere about it. Are they not doing anything special? I’ll need to cancel our plans if they aren’t celebrating this momentous occasion.

Hi Gina! Thanks for visiting planDisney.

While the Disneyland Resort hasn't yet announced plans for the upcoming July 4th celebrations, my family has celebrated our nation's birthday in the parks and highly recommends the experience. Of course, this year could be even more epic with the big anniversary! We'll just have to see what they have in store. If you're looking for more information as the big day approaches, keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog, which is the official news source for the parks. They should have the scoop on any special entertainment, treats, and experiences you can expect to enjoy.

What you can count on are the fireworks in Disneyland Park! The fireworks on the 4th are a patriotic salute you won't want to miss. Enjoying the view of the display from Main Street, U.S.A. is quintessential Americana, but also consider watching from Frontierland for an even more rustic American vibe.

My must-do list for the 4th would also include catching the Dapper Dans on Main Street, U.S.A., hopping aboard one of the Main Street Vehicles, viewing the Flag Retreat Ceremony, and encountering one of our greatest presidents at Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. Over in Frontierland, I love the Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes and the Mark Twain Riverboat for a taste of life in the American West. If you're visiting Disney California Adventure Park, don't miss Cars Land and the awe-inspiring beauty of Grizzly Peak, which evoke the American West as well.

Consider booking a dining reservation at Plaza Inn on Main Street, U.S.A., where the star is the fried chicken alongside other American favorites. Plus, it has the best view of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Dining reservations typically open up 60 days out, and locations can fill up quickly, especially for popular days. Set a reminder on your mobile device so you don't miss your chance to select a spot to celebrate our nation's birthday. Availability isn't guaranteed.

You can also filter for "American" choices under Dining. These selections not only include Table Service locations, but also Quick Service. You'll find locations serving American favorites like hot dogs, hamburgers, milkshakes, and more. There should be something fit for a backyard barbecue that appeals to everyone in your group.

    I hope this helps!
