Hey there, Jamie! Welcome to planDisney. I'm so happy you reached out to us with your question on fitness amenities at Disneyland Resort!
Summertime sounds like the perfect opportunity to keep up with your physical activity goals at Disneyland Resort. Luckily, you don’t need to lift a locomotive like Mr. Incredible or perform a weighted climb to retrieve the arrow like Mulan because there are plenty of ways to stay active during your upcoming Disneyland Resort vacation. So, ‘Let’s Get Down to Business,’ on the
fitness facilities available to Guests of the
Disneyland Resort Hotels.
For the largest range of recreation and fitness amenities, I recommend
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. The Eureka Fitness Center is located on the first floor of the hotel and offers a selection of free weights and weight machines, treadmills, stair climbers, ellipticals, and cycling equipment for use. You can also participate in fitness classes in and around the resort property. I have my eye on the Adventure Boot Camp, a high-intensity bodyweight resistance circuit through Disney California Adventure Park. You’ll be ‘One Jump Ahead’ of the crowds since this early-morning fitness class takes place in the theme park before it opens to other Guests! Other options include Yoga in the Redwood Creek, Paddleboard Fitness, Tai Chi, and more.
Bookings for recreation and fitness classes are available at Tenaya Stone Spa for Guests ages 18 and older while Guests between 14 and 17 years may participate with a parent or guardian.
At the moment, the Fitness Center at the
Disneyland Hotel has been temporarily relocated to the Mark Twain Room in the Frontier Tower. The Fitness Center at
Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel remains currently unavailable while the hotel undergoes renovation to become Pixar Place Hotel later this year. You can keep up to date on the
hotel’s transformation to see when these amenities will become available again. Until then, Guests staying at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel may use the Fitness Center at Disneyland Hotel.
Jamie, after you ‘Go the Distance’ with your physical activity goals, one of my favorite recovery activities is lounging by the resort pools at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. You and your family might consider a
Poolside Cabana rental for either a half-day or full-day reservation. Cabanas include lounge seating for 6 Guests, as well as a flat-screen television with cable, a complimentary fruit platter, towel service, and a dedicated cabana server to assist with any food and beverage ordering (just maybe not 5-dozen eggs, like Gaston!) You can call the hotel and select option 5 to make a Cabana reservation or visit Guest Services upon arrival, subject to availability. I think it’s the most luxurious way to relax after an intense workout – after all, you’ve earned it!
I hope these few recommendations help you ‘Chase the Wind and Touch the Sky,’ on your next Disneyland Resort vacation. If you have any other questions, please feel welcome to
reach out directly or visit any of us at planDisney!
