I am planning a trip to Disneyland with a group of friends. I am planning on purchasing the military promotional tickets. I know I need to be present when they enter the parks for the first time but can they all enter at different times on the first day?

    Hi, Shawna!

Thank you for your service to our country! I'm grateful that you chose to send your question to planDisney.

I'm glad that you are taking advantage of this great offer! As you know, when an Eligible Service Member buys the 3-Day or 4-Day Military Promotional Park Hopper Ticket, they just need to purchase a ticket for themself and be with their guests when entering a theme park for the first time. You will need to accompany them into the park whenever they arrive. Don't forget to bring your military identification when scanning into the park with them!

After that first scan, Guests are usually free to come and go on their own, at least in my experience. This is how it worked during my past visits with service members, although policies can change from time to time. It is always a good idea to double‑check with a Cast Member at the entrance so you know exactly what to expect throughout your visit. You can also confirm with the Cast Member that your guests may arrive at different times on that first day, as long as you are with them.

Are you participating in the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend starting on January 29, 2026? It is one of the best weekends of the year! I love seeing everyone's outfits and getting the chance to run through "The Happiest Place on Earth!" If you are running, make sure to visit the Expo the day before your first event to pick up your bib...and of course, to do some shopping! I usually buy a running jacket and a magnet, but I'm constantly on the lookout for cute new stuff.

The Lunar New Year Celebration is also happening in Disney California Adventure Park that weekend, and the Foodie Guide already has me so excited! Everything looks delicious! Last year, I couldn't stop going back for the Garlic Noodles, and this year, the Chocolate Firecracker is calling my name. With that chocolate mousse and chocolate ganache filling, it’s definitely going to be one of the first treats I grab!

Shawna, thank you again for serving in the military. You are an inspiration! I hope you reach out to planDisney again if you have additional questions.

    Magic Happens!
