    Planning a trip to Disneyland in the first week of October. When does the halloween festivities start? Traveling with spouse that can't walk long distances due to medical issues. Which disney resort would be closest to parks to limit our walking?

    Hi, Marcy,

    Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel. How exciting to be planning a boo-tiful visit to the Disneyland Resort this fall. Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort usually starts around the second week of September. And Mickey’s Halloween Party dates usually begin around the middle of September.

    The three Disneyland Resort Hotels, Downtown Disney District, Disneyland Park, and Disney California Park are all within short walking distances of each other. The entrances of the theme parks are literally only 100 yards apart from each other! The hotel that is closest to the parks and to Downtown Disney District is Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. In fact, it is the first Disney resort hotel to be built inside a Disney theme park! 

    Should you need mobility assistance while visiting the theme parks, electric conveyance vehicles (ECVs) and manual wheelchairs are available for rent on a first-come, first-served basis. Third party rental companies in the area are also available should you need something that can be taken to your hotel or other places outside the two parks.
