Welcome to planDisney, Geri!
Some of my most favorite childhood memories were made during large family trips to Disneyland Resort. Nowadays, I love creating new memories there with my children and our extended family. Last year, we had multiple vacations to Disney destinations with our grandparents and cousins, and we had such a special time together!
For our family, part of the fun of going on trips with other relatives is staying in the same place, where my kids can run into their cousins' rooms as soon as they wake up. We especially like staying in 2 or 3 Bedroom Family Connecting Suites at the
Disneyland Hotel. The rooms are spacious and full of magical touches, like light-up Sleeping Beauty Castle headboards and retro artwork. In the pool area, the Monorail-themed waterslides are also a hit with all of the kids! There is even a fun water play area for younger children. For dining options at the hotel, try making reservations at the interactive
Goofy's Kitchen or
mobile order the delicious Tangaroa Toast at
Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill, if available.
On the other hand, if you have Pixar fans in your family, you may want to check out the newly reimagined
Pixar Place Hotel. It is the first and only hotel in the world to celebrate all the films of Pixar Animation Studios! The rooms are full of Pixar details, and I have heard great reviews of the new dining location,
Great Maple Modern American Eatery. Guests at Pixar Place Hotel even have their own entrance to Disney California Adventure Park! The hotel will continue to undergo some work as part of this retheming process, although it may be complete by October.
The Disneyland website does not currently show if any hotels will be undergoing refurbishment in October. I suggest keeping an eye on the website as you get closer to October to see if any updates are provided. Information on the refurbishment process at Pixar Place Hotel can be
found on its website.
October is one of the best times of year to visit Disneyland! The fall weather brings warm days and cool evenings (don't forget a sweater!), and
Halloween Time will be in full effect at that time. If you are interested in attending the separately ticketed event,
Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party, during your visit, make sure to follow the
Disney Parks Blog or Disneyland social media pages for ticket information when it becomes available. The event is very popular and sells out quickly, so try to grab those tickets as soon as they go on sale!
Geri, I hope you and your family have a fun-filled trip to Disneyland Resort! If you have additional questions, feel free to
contact me directly!
Wishing you a Great, Big Beautiful tomorrow!
