Hello, I am planning a trip to Disneyland with my family of 10, arriving 12/21 departing 12/24. I am concerned of all the reviews regarding how packed the parks are. Does anyone know first hand how the parks will be around this time. Thank You

Hi, Roberta! Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

The Holidays are an amazing time to visit with all the dazzling décor, special entertainment, and holiday-inspired food and drinks to be enjoyed! For all these reasons and more, December is a very popular month to visit. The Disneyland Resort manages crowd levels by extending park hours, ensuring attractions are running at full capacity, and staffing lots of friendly Cast Members to help Guests. While I haven’t been to the parks during the week of Christmas, I have been during other extremely busy times of year and I can tell you that with a little advanced planning and careful strategy, you can have an absolutely fabulous trip!

First, arrive at the parks as early as possible each day and take advantage of any early admission options you might have available to you. No matter the time of year, crowds are at their lowest first thing in the morning and you can get quite a lot done by lunchtime if you start early. Next, upgrade to the Disney MaxPass option which allows you to make FASTPASS selections from anywhere in the parks on your mobile device. Make your first FASTPASS selection when you enter the park and continue to make selections as soon as you are able throughout the day.

Be ready to make your table-service dining reservations 60 days in advance, especially if you plan to enjoy any signature or character dining experiences. Finally, if you want to leave the parks and come back later in the day, check with a Cast Member to see if the parks are near or at capacity before you leave. If the parks are at capacity, you will not be allowed back in even with your valid theme park tickets.

I hope this helps. Please stop by again if you have any other questions!
