We are planning a trip to Disneyland in a couple weeks and my daughter has a broken ankle. Do we need to get her a DAS pass or do we go straight to the ride to be instructed on how to board the ride?

Hi there, Amanda! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m so sorry to hear about your daughter’s broken ankle! I think a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth is just what the doctor ordered!

Upon arrival, I recommend heading straight to Guest Relations, located in City Hall in Disneyland Park, or Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure Park. You can chat with a Cast Member to find out if Disability Access Service (DAS) may be helpful for your daughter during your stay. Either way, I’m sure the Cast Member will be able to provide helpful recommendations to make this visit comfortable for her.

To avoid waiting in line upon arrival, I’d recommend purchasing your tickets online ahead of time. Also, it would be helpful to add Disney MaxPass to your tickets, since it allows you to make digital Disney FASTPASS selections directly from your phone, which is especially helpful with your daughter’s injury. You can use MaxPass in conjunction with DAS, if that is provided for your daughter.

Before your magical adventures begin, you’ll also want to download the Disneyland app. It’s my favorite handy helper in the parks for checking wait times, finding Characters, and even mobile ordering food and drinks – another way to eliminate waiting in line with your daughter!

If needed, you can also rent a stroller or wheelchair (depending on your daughter’s age) to the right of the Disneyland Park Main Entrance. Just look for Stroller Rentals, adjacent to the Kennel.

I hope this information helps as you continue planning. Please stop back with any additional questions you may have, I’m all EARs!

My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
