Hey there, hi there, ho there, Supna! Thanks so much for swingin’ by planDisney. We are delighted to hEAR from you! Oh boy, there is so much magic to explore and I can't wait to help you plan!
For me personally, any time is a great time for a trip to the
Disneyland Resort. But I can appreciate you’re thinking about less crowded times to visit. In my experience, the crowds are relatively thinner in the late February to early March timeframe. This period is after the Lunar New Year celebration has wrapped up and before the spring break visitors start to arrive. Another advantage is you’ll get mild, almost perfect weather in Anaheim this time of year, making it very pleasant to be outdoors day or night.
I have good news for you - even if you visit during a busier time of year, such as spring break, the phenomenal cosmic power of
Disney Genie+ is going to bring you to a whole new world of shorter wait times! Similar to the former Disney FastPass you mentioned, Disney Genie+ will give you access to
Lightning Lanes at nearly 20 attractions across both theme parks. On a recent trip, my family and I added Disney Genie+ to our tickets as soon as we entered the theme park, and it was one of the best decisions we made, to reduce our time in queues and increase our time having fun! You can also add Disney Genie+ at time of ticket purchase. This is no ordinary lamp, Supna!
If I may suggest other tips for traveling with multi-generational families, I recommend staying at a
Disneyland Resort Hotel for proximity to the parks, or at a Good Neighbor Hotel within walking distance (
Fairfield Inn by Marriott Anaheim Resort being my favorite, just a five minute walk). You’ll find that the youngest and oldest Mouseketeers in your party will appreciate a little rest during the day. When you can break up the day and relax with some downtime at the pool or just putting your feet up for a bit, you’ll have more stamina to enjoy your vacation. Check out
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa which is literally attached to Disney California Adventure – I can’t emphasize enough how much your tired feet will thank you with the short walk to your beautiful hotel.
I recommend having at least one table-service dining reservation secured in advance, as the Guests in your party may be marching to different beats during the day, exploring the attractions and entertainment of their choosing. A family meal for lunch or dinner brings everyone back together to compare notes, laugh and share stories. One of our favorite spots for a large family meal is
Naples Ristorante e Bar in the Downtown Disney District or
GCH Craftsman Bar at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.
Dining reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance.
Supna, I wish you and your ‘ohana the most magical vacation ever. Stop by with any other questions, we’re all EARS!
