Planning trip to disney with my 9 year old son March 12 - 22. We are looking for the best resort to enjoy opposed to going to the parks. He loves the water. What is your recommendation from Value to Deluxe, even a cruise/ resort combo would be okay?

My son just turned 11 and absolutely loves the water as well.

For WDW visitors that want to spend a lot of time at the pool, I would recommend the Yacht or Beach Club. Both are deluxe resorts and share the amazing pool, Stormalong Bay. In addition, you can take boat transportation to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

For a moderate resort, I would recommend the Caribbean Beach Resort. My son loves the pirate themed rooms, water play area and the pool with a slide. Standard rooms are Nemo themed.

In the value resort category, you may want to try Pop Century. It offers three swimming pools and an interactive spray fountain. If your son is a sports fan, try All Star Sports.

I was at Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach this past week. I highly recommend visiting Disney's water parks. They are extraordinarily themed and offer many different water-related activities. In fact, our son spent five hours at Typhoon Lagoon today. Most of his time was spent in the wave pool!

We have been on several Disney cruises combined with stays at WDW. The cruise is a terrific option for fans of the water. From the on-board pools to the fantastic beach and water activities at Castaway Cay, your family will certainly create magical memories! A land and sea vacation is a vacation that you'll cherish!
