Planning a trip to Disney World w/ my son (almost 2) and husband. We have an Uppababy vista stroller but since it’s bulky we’re thinking of buying a travel stroller. Any recs for easy maneuverability, comfort, storage, and approved size for parks?

    Hey, Howdy, Hey, Lauren!

The planDisney Roundup is pleased to welcome you back! I’m Shantel, a mom of two and recent graduate from the stoller club. We visited last year without a stroller for the first time, but we managed to go through our share of strollers over the years. I’m happy to share my stroller experiences with you!

I’m a try-it-out type of mom, so I went to my local store and pushed a few options around to see how they turned and rolled along. You'll be happy to hear that most strollers fit within the measurement requirements, even a few double strollers as well! My personal favorite was a Baby Jogger City Mini. I used the single option on a day-to-day basis at home, and then eventually purchased the double stroller version to accommodate both of my kids. After going through a few, that was my favorite!

I think my biggest reason for sticking to what I know and using my personal stroller was because of how well my little ones napped in it. It was extremely easy to recline and provided enough shade to give them a comfortable space to nap. I noticed that the travel-style strollers, while they are lighter, left my little ones in an upright napping position. And trust me, those little ones need those naps throughout a magical park day. Plus, both my husband and I knew how to fold it down, and we had all the accessory attachments that made carrying our needs with us easier. Especially that drink holder feature! I’ll tell you the biggest downfall to visiting without a stroller now is having to hold my water bottle.

You also have the option of renting a stroller when you arrive! You can do so in the theme parks or through the Disney Featured Provider, ScooterBug. I did see that the Disney Featured Provider rents out the stroller I was just talking about. This is a great option for you, and the rental company will schedule a delivery and pickup with you at your Disney Resort Hotel, meaning it’s one less thing you have to travel with! It will also give you the chance to try out a new stroller through the rental process without purchasing a new one.

Lauren, I hope this helps you find the perfect stroller for your visit. Let me know what you think, and if you need any other tips or have any additional questions, please ask me! I’m happy to share my experiences on traveling with little ones.

    Ride like the wind,

    Shantel

Hi ya Pals! I'm Shantel, an Army wife and mom of two. I grew up going to the parks, and now we're sharing that tradition with our kids. When I am not visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, I'm at home researching and planning for our next trip. One of my favorite things to do is search for new snacks to try, especially if they are Mickey shaped. I'm definitely living the dream my heart wished for! I cannot wait to answer your questions and help make your vacation even more magical!
