We are planning a trip to Disney World with my mother who is disabled. What is the best way to get a temporary scooter for our stay? Are the rides accomidating?

I was a Disney World this week with my Mom and we had an excellent experience with the attractions accommodating my mom's special needs. I suggest that your mother obtain a note from her doctor outlining her disability prior to arrival for your vacation. She can show the note to Guest Relations when you arrive to obtain a Guest Assistance Card (GAC.) She can show the GAC to a Cast Member at the attraction to enter the attraction via an alternate queue if one is available.

There are several companies that  rent scooters by the day or for the entire week. A Cast Member can provide you with that information when you arrive or you can call one if the many scooter rental companies ahead of time to make your reservation. They will even deliver the scooter to your resort and pick it up so he process is seamless for you!

I hope you have a magical vacation!

    Magically,
    Stacy
