I am planning a trip to Disney World May 2015 and am trying to make it as cost efficient as I can while still allowing my 7 year old to do some of the special things she wants to do like bibbidi bobbidi boutique. Any suggestions?

    Hi Lorie,

Thank you for the great question. My best tip for budget travel is to purchase a "base ticket" as opposed to the "park hopper." With so much to see and do in each Disney Park, you don't necessarily need to "hop" from park to park, and it's a considerable savings. Consider staying at the wonderfully themed Disney Resort Hotels. The value category offers very competitive rates, provides complimentary transportation to the parks throughout your stay (including airport transfers!), and allows you entrance to "Extra Magic Hours." These special park hours are exclusive to guests staying at a Disney Resort Hotel. You'll have an hour at the beginning of the day or sometimes several hours after dark to explore the parks outside of when the general public can visit. When it comes to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, your princess will cherish her transformation! In the past, I've surprised our daughter during our vacation with an invitation to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique from her favorite Disney Princess along with the gown I've purchased from home. She awoke to quite the surprise and was delighted to see a princess dress she could wear to her royal appointment. Purchasing from home will provide you a cost savings (Kohls, or many online costume stores sell Disney princess gowns). The Coach Package is the least expensive of the options, however I recommend spending a few extra dollars (currently it's only $5 more) for the Crown Package. The Crown provides nail polish during the appointment and extends the appointment a bit longer. You can book your appointment by calling 407-WDW-STYLE as early as 180-days in advance.

I'm limited in space, Lorie, but I'm happy to help further. Let me know what questions you have and until then, I wish you a magical visit to Walt Disney World!
