Hi there Ashley!
How exciting to be planning a Walt Disney World vacation for November! As a mom of three boys myself, I can definitely suggest several great shows to attend. At Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, don't miss Festival of the Lion King. If time permits, you may also want to catch Finding Nemo - The Musical and Flights of Wonders. If your five-year-old is a Disney Junior fan, consider adding Disney Junior - Live on Stage! at Disney's Hollywood Studios to your list. I also highly recommend Fantasmic! at Disney's Hollywood Studios as a must see for your entire family. At Magic Kingdom Park, be sure to watch Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade and Wishes nighttime spectacular.
I have purchased the Disney Dining Plan on previous trips, but have not done so on recent visits. I did find the Disney Dining Plan to be a good value when dining at all-you-care-to-enjoy dining locations or Character Dining experiences. When making your decision, you may want to take a look at the extensive menu list on allears.net to compare prices of what you would spend out of pocket for each meal as opposed to the cost of the Disney Dining Plan.
I would definitely recommend booking a Character Dining experience in which your boys will get to meet several Disney Characters while enjoying a delicious meal. My boys have always loved Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort and 'Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Follow this link to learn more about
Character Dining. My list of fun dining locations for boys includes: T-REX and Rainforest Cafe at Disney Springs and Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.
I hope this helps. Please don't hesitate to visit me again with any additional questions that I can assist you with. Best wishes for a magical trip!
Happy Planning,
Jodie
