We are planning a trip to disney world in June and we really want to stay someplace reasonably priced within walking distance of downtown disney. I am assuming downtown disneyworld is similar to downtown disneyland.

    Hi Olivia!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

The only Disney owned and operated resort within walking distance of Downtown Disney is Saratoga Springs Resort.  It is officially a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) property, but non-DVC members can stay at the resort.  The resort is a Disney Deluxe Villa and has wonderful accommodations!

The other resorts within walking distance are the independent Downtown Disney hotels.  They are independent from Disney and provide their own transportation to the theme parks; their shuttle buses do not run as often as Disney transportation does to Disney hotels, but it's not bad.  My family has enjoyed staying in the Downtown Disney Hilton and in the Downtown Disney DoubleTree.  The Hilton is the closest to Downtown Disney and is literally just across the street.

Conceptually Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World is like Downtown Disney at Disneyland, but the one in Walt Disney World is much larger with many more shops and restaurants.  I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
