We are planning a trip to Disney World in January with 2 kids; boy 6, girl 3. I'm having trouble deciding which resort to stay at GF, AKL, or AOA. Do you have any recommendations?

    Hello Kristy,

Thank you for stopping by. I absolutely love offering my tips and recommendations to other families so their vacations can be as magical as possible. I simply adore all of those resorts, but I would recommend either Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge or Disney's Art of Animation Resort, especially for the ages of your children. Disney's Grand Floridian Resort is a beautiful hotel, but your kids might not appreciate the nostalgic theming as much as that of the other two resorts.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is an amazing resort with the unique opportunity to book rooms with a savanna view. When we took our oldest son on his first Disney vacation, we stayed there. He was almost 4 at the time and absolutely loved seeing the giraffes eat each day when we came back to the room to rest before dinner. One drawback to this resort is its distance to the other three theme parks, sometimes causing a longer ride to and from Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. However, the one of a kind animal viewing experiences at this resort made up for it.

I also think you would really enjoy a stay at Disney's Art of Animation Resort. The details in the theming from some of the most beloved Disney classics such as Cars, Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo and Lion King are simply something to behold first hand. By choosing this resort, you are also within the value level and while the family suites here are not as inexpensive as the standard rooms in the other value resorts, you still could save a little money in your budget by choosing this resort over a deluxe resort. Another bonus with choosing a family suite here is the extra space and small kitchenette that is standard in all of the family suites.

I hope you have a magical stay regardless of where you choose to stay. Happy Planning.
