I am planning a trip to Disney World for the first time for my Fiance and I's honeymoon this September! I am a little lost! What is the first thing to plan after purchasing tickets, and what are the most important things to know?

    Hi there Elizabeth,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. I will be happy to guide you for this  such a joyous occasion. Don’t worry, you won’t be lost by the time we are done.

A honeymoon at Walt Disney World Resort in the fall is going to be a wonderful time. Celebrations are made for Disney World if you ask me. We have celebrated a number of birthdays at the parks, but never this big of a celebration. If you have already purchased tickets and have accommodations, your next thing would be researching dining options. 60 days ahead of your visit you will be able to make reservations at restaurants inside of parks, as well as Disney Resorts Collection Hotels. There are all kinds of different options for food, but for your honeymoon, you may want a couple of nice table service restaurants where you can celebrate your union in stye. If you haven’t booked your accommodations or purchased your tickets, you can actually get them all together with the Disney Vacation Package. You can find promotions, different resort types, attractions, shopping, dining, and everything for planning your visit on the Vacation Planning Page. Check the Special Offers section for deals that may include the dates you are planning on visiting.

Everyone’s wedding looks a little different, and so does everyone’s honeymoon. If you will be visiting for an entire week, I always recommend Memory Maker. This will give you an opportunity to stop and take pictures wherever you see a PhotoPass Cast Member. They will link to your My Disney Experience App and you’ll be able to download them directly to your phone. If you wedding was a grand wedding, you may have taken all the pictures you wanted to already, but if you haven’t had that opportunity yet you should schedule a Capture Your Moment photo session. These 20 minute photo sessions are with your own PhotoPass Cast Member in a semi secluded park specific location. While you are not able to wear wedding attire, guests usually are very creative for their outfits during these special photo opportunities. The best part is, you will not have to pay for the photos as they will upload right to your Memory Maker package. You also would like to get yourself wedding pins that say just married from a Cast Member when you first arrive. If you wear these around the resort and parks Cast Members all over will notice you and wish you congratulations. Some cast members may go as far as spreading some extra pixie dust for you.

Your visit in September is going to be one magical honeymoon celebration so make it count! If you have any other planning questions visit us again at planDisney.com.

    Have a magical stay,
