Welcome to planDisney, Patrick.
I understand your decision to stay off-property. My family has stayed off-property a couple of times in the past few years. Sometimes, it just works out better for the budget. However, I always miss that immersive Disney theming, amazing customer service, and onsite
benefits (such as
Early Theme Park Entry). Still, any trip to Walt Disney World Resort is magical, whether you stay on- or offsite.
Patrick, since you'll be staying off-property, you won't be able to link your hotel reservation to your
My Disney Experience account. However, you will be able to link your
theme park tickets to your account. Also, if you make any
dining reservations, those will show up in your account too. So you should be able to use your My Disney Experience account (including the
mobile app) for your trip. I've done this myself when I've stayed off-property.
If there's still a chance of you staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, Patrick, maybe you could keep checking out the
special offers page on the Walt Disney World Resort website. Maybe in the upcoming months, you can find a decent discount during the time you're planning on staying. I know it might mean you end up paying a little extra, however, I always say that time is money. And staying onsite saves you a lot of time when you factor in traveling and the extra time in the parks.
Wherever you decide to stay, I trust you'll have an enchanting trip, Patrick. Please stop by planDisney again if you have any other questions.
