Hi. We are planning a trip to Disney world December 9-13, 2018. We have 4 children ages 18 month - 7. Should we stay at the Floridian or the contemporary?

Hi Julia. Oh my goodness! This is such a hard decision! The best news I can give you is you will love them both and truly can't go wrong.

I'm inclined to suggest Disney's Contemporary Resort based on the ages of your kiddos. The ultra-modern Disney Resort is awe-inspiring to the young and young at heart. It's always so amazing to see the Resort Monorail breeze through the center of the Resort hotel. The dining options are fabulous. Chef Mickey's is a must do. You will love dining with Disney Friends as you enjoy a great buffet at breakfast, brunch or dinner. The views of both the Magic Kingdom fireworks and the Electrical Water Pageant are spectacular. The tipping point for me is your ability to walk to and from Magic Kingdom. It's a short 10-15 minute walk straight to and from the theme park to the Resort hotel.

However, the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is exactly as described. Grand! It is truly stunning and in December, the Resort hotel is decorated beautifully for Christmas. It also has great dining options, magnificent views and it is also a Monorail Resort hotel. The life-size gingerbread house is amazing!

Regardless of which Resort hotel you select, I would highly encourage you to make time to take a tour on the Resort Monorail. By doing so, you will be able to enjoy both Resort hotels. Pop into Disney's Polynesian Village Resort as well and stop by Kona Island for a delicious Kona Blend Coffee. Your vacation is going to be magical!
