We’re planning a trip to Disney World in August and my daughter may need a scooter due to a foot injury. If we go to rent at the parks in the morning can we be sure that there will be a scooter available or do they run out of them often?

Hello there, Nancy! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We appreciate you taking the time to stop by and submit your Walt Disney World Resort question!

Walt Disney World Resort does an excellent job providing assistance and accommodations for their Guests with disabilities including those with temporary disabilities! One of the many services offered for Guests with disabilities is the ability to rent both Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs) or wheelchairs when visiting. This can absolutely be a lifesaver for Guests that have difficulties walking long distances!

Guests may rent either an ECV or wheelchair for daily use. This rental is valid for the day of purchase and may be redeemed at all locations where mobility device rentals are available. However, rentals are not guaranteed and are subject to availability. It is also important to note that mobility device rentals may not be removed from the area in which they are rented. For example, a wheelchair rented at Magic Kingdom may only be used inside that park and must be returned upon leaving the park.

If you would like to guarantee availability and rent an ECV for the length of your stay, you may also rent from a Disney Featured Provider. These Orlando-based companies provide Guests with mobility device rentals and will even deliver right to your Disney Resort hotel!

Hopefully, this information will help your daughter have an amazing vacation!
