I am planning a trip to Disney this Sept for my sons birthday and we REALLY want to attend MNSSHP I cant find dates for it anywhere but, I do notice the MK closes at 7 pm on several dates staring in early Sept. Is it safe to assume these are the dates?

    Hi Jennifer,

Love that you are planning to celebrate your son's birthday at Disney World!  Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) is my all time favorite event at the Magic Kingdom! Disney has not yet announced the 2011 MNSSHP dates. The 2010 dates began on Sept 14, 2010 so one would guess (I don't know for sure) that the dates will begin mid-Sept this year as well. The Disney Parks Blog announced the 2010 MNSSHP & Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party dates on May 21, 2010. Hopefully we'll find out around that time this year too if not sooner.

Some of the dates that Magic Kingdom is scheduled to close at 7 p.m. may indeed be dates they are holding MNSSHP.  However, Disney does hold other special events at Magic Kingdom as well.  For instance, Night of Joy is scheduled for Sept 9th & 10th, 2011.  There are also times that Magic Kingdom may close early for private press events. Your safest bet is to wait for the official announcement to be made.

Keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog regarding the official dates as they usually make announcements there. If you're on twitter, follow @DisneyParks & @WaltDisneyWorld. If you're on Facebook, keep an eye on the official Disney World Facebook page. You're also welcome to check back with us in a couple of months.

Wishing your son many magical birthday memories :-) Allison
