We are planning our 1st trip to Disney in Sept & going to AK for an 8:00 opening. I have two boys 10 and 7. How long will it take us to see the best of AK (no thrill rides)? Could we do that and make it to a 4:30 reservation at Coral Reef in Epcot?

    Hi Dalaiah!

Your trip to Disney World is coming up soon!  I am sure your family is getting very excited:)

I also have two boys that are three years apart!  While we love Animal Kingdom, we have always counted it as a half-day park.

If you plan to get to Animal Kingdom by 8:00 a.m., you will have plenty of time to see it all!  If you are going straight to Epcot for your dining reservation, I would plan to leave Animal Kingdom no later than 3:00 p.m.

You would even have time for the thrill rides if you use the FASTPASS system.  But, I also understand that sometimes it is fun to go to a park and explore without all of the rides!

Visit the Animal Kingdom Attractions page on the Disney World website so your boys can plan in advance what they want to do.  My boys love the Affection Section, The Boneyard, and they love completing the tasks as Wilderness Explorers!

Another tip for you:  If you go to the Conservation Station in Rafiki's Planet Watch early in the morning, you can sometimes watch the veterinarians perform check-ups and other medical procedures on some of the parks animals.  My boys got to see surgery on a turtle one time!

I hope this helps!  Please let me know if you have any other questions.
