Hello we are planning a trip to Disney from 3/30 to 4/4. We would like to do one day at Hollywood studios but need to book the droid experience for our kids. How do we see the availability of the Droid experience before purchasing the day ticket? Thank u

    Hello there, Jay!

Like Obi-Wan Kenobi says, this is the planDisney page you are looking for (see what I did there?). I think you found planDisney just in time because the Droid Depot experience in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios is very popular and books up quickly.

The first thing you’ll need to do is download the My Disney Experience app on your mobile device. You can do this on the My Disney Experience account on your computer, but I find it easier to book on the app. Next, press the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the app and type in “Droid Depot at the Walt Disney World Resort.” Once you select the Droid Depot option, you’ll press “Check Availability,” scroll down and select the date you want to book the experience. After selecting the date, you can select the number of builders (how many droids your party will assemble) and your time. Disney will collect your credit card information in the event that your party doesn’t arrive as scheduled.

When you select the number of builders, make sure you read the fine print because the stations only accommodate one builder and one Guest to watch the experience, and each station much have one person who is 14 years of age or older. Also, you’ll need a theme park reservation and a valid park ticket for the same park on the same date as the experience. Before you book the Droid Depot experience, I would check to confirm that Disney’s Hollywood Studios has theme park reservation availability for the day you are looking to do the experience. Once you’ve confirmed that the theme park is available and made your Droid Depot reservation, I’d purchase your theme park tickets and make your theme park reservations directly after booking the Droid Depot experience. Once you’ve completed this, you’ll be all set to have your very own astromech unit.

If your Jedi knights in training are excited about this experience, you may also want to look into Savi’s Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers or a visit to Oga’s Cantina (there are lots of delicious nonalcoholic beverages too). Here’s a pro tip: If your little Ewoks love Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and want to ride it a second time, the single-rider line is usually faster. Let me know if you need anything else- I’m at your service.

May the magic be with you!
