The water parks at Walt Disney World are a dream come true for an eight year old boy. Either of the two parks will provide an awesome day of splashing and sliding fun.
Disney's Blizzard Beach has the most original theme anywhere for a water park. A freak Florida snow resulted in a ski resort that is now melting in the hot sun. The Ski Patrol Training Camp, an area created for children your son's age, has floating icebergs, a zip line, and slides. Melt-Away Bay, or the bob pool as my kids call it, is a large, fun pool. Teamboat Springs, my favorite water park ride ever, is a family raft ride. Some attractions, such as Slush Gusher, have a 48 inch height requirement.
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon was lashed by a major storm that left Mount Mayday awash with water fun. The giant Surf Pool is one of the biggest wave pools in the world. There is Shark Reef for snorkeling, Castaway Creek for leisurely raft rides, and slides a plenty. There are three Falls raft rides if you like a little speed with your inner tube. Some attractions, such as Humunga Kowabunga, have a 48 inch height requirement.
Wear sunscreen and flip flops or water shoes and enjoy.
