    Hello, We are planning a trip to Disney next week. My question is, what rides have virtual queues? Last year, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance had a virtual queue. Does the virtual queue still exist for this ride in 2022?

    Thanks for your question to planDisney!

    The virtual queue system that Disney used until recently for the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction is not currently in use on any attractions at Walt Disney World. Disney indicated that they would use it in the future whenever there is a new ride that is expected to have a demand spike. A great example of this is when they moved the virtual queue system from Rise of the Resistance over to the new Remy's Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT for a time. 

    So how do you lock in your ride into space to do battle with the Sith? Don't worry, we got this! The Individual Lightning Lane system is currently in use and should be in place for Rise of the Resistance during your trip. But how does it work? With the Individual Lightning Lane feature on your My Disney Experience App you can pay to reserve an attraction time for that day. You do not have to be using Disney Genie+ to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane pass, as this program is open to any park guest.

    Typically the 1 or 2 most popular attractions at each of the parks will have an Individual Lightning Lane where you can use your My Disney Experience App to purchase an arrival window time to ride. The prices vary, based on demand, and this can help you lock in that "Must Do!" experience that was at the top of your bucket list.

    You can see all of the attractions that are part of the Individual Lightning Lane program, as well as those covered by Disney Genie+, by going to the Lightning Lane web page. They are listed by park at the bottom of the page. At this time the two Individual Lightning Lane attractions for Disney's Hollywood Studios are Rise of the Resistance and Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway, though that can change in the future. 

    BONUS TIP
    If you are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel you can make an Individual Lightning Lane purchase starting at 7 am the day of your visit, while other guests can start ordering when the park opens.
