I am planning a trip to Disney next September. I would then have a 4 year old and a 2 and a half year old. I am wondering what moderate or value hotel you would recommend for kid appeal and luxury for the parents.

    Hi Melinda!

Congratulations on your upcoming family trip! You have chosen a great time to visit Walt Disney World with preschoolers.  The early fall is usually cooler and many of the families with older children are back to school. I will outline my choice of Resort hotels for you below, but remember to keep an eye on the Special Offers page too as it may influence your decision.

First, let me assure you that every Resort hotel has huge "kid appeal". My children adore all of them from the Grand Floridian to All-Star Music. Due to your children's ages I recommend selecting rooms that are closest to the food court/quick service areas. Usually this does require choosing the preferred room option which for my family is well worth the small up-charge. Below are my picks for Resort hotels in the value/moderate category with preschoolers:

    • Pop Century -Value- Great food court and usually doesn't share bus transportation with other resorts
    • Art of Animation -Value- The Little Mermaid Rooms are amazingly themed and sleep 4.  Family Suites are available but cost more since they are double in size
    • Port Orleans Riverside -Moderate- The Royal Guest Rooms are luxurious for children and parents alike
    • Port Orleans French Quarter -Moderate- This resort is quite intimate and every room is situated close to the Food Court and Bus Depot

From the above list, only the Port Orleans Riverside has a table service restaurant. The others only have quick service meal options; although the Port Orleans Riverside is close enough to walk to from the French Quarter.

Good luck and have a MAGICAL vacation!

    Blessings,
    Brenda ºOº
