We are planning a trip to Disney in May. We cannot decide between the Port Orleans and Coronado Springs resorts. We will be traveling with 2 adults, a 14 year old, a 3 year old, and a 1 year old. Queen beds are a must. Which would be a better fit?

You have a good dilemma as I like both resorts!  Coronado Springs is a convention resort with a few more amenities such as a spa and nice dining restaurant.  The rooms were refurbished just a couple of years ago and yes indeed the rooms all have queen or king beds and there are some suite options.  It is a large resort that wraps around a nice lake that also has some boating recreation available to the guests. I like the Cabanas buildings as this would put you in close proximity to both the main building and the main pool area.  This resort is within walking distance to Blizzard Beach so if this is a park you would be spending a lot of time at this is a consideration.

Port Orleans is now just upgrading their rooms to queen size beds so be sure to make it known on your reservation that this is a request for your family.  One of the nice things about this resort is that you are within a short boat ride to Downtown Disney where you can dine and shop and find some great entertainment when you don't wish to be in the parks.  If you think that sometimes you might want to split up during the day and go in different directions I suggest this resort as some of the family can always find fun within an easy boat ride from the room!

Both have pool areas that have slides and other fun themes.  You can also hop on board a carriage ride in the evenings at Port Orleans which is fun for all ages.  My vote probably would go to Port Orleans for your family but make sure you are noted the request for queen beds since this is a transition that is going on right now.
