We are planning a trip to Disney in March 2012. It will be our first visit, and we are wanting to celebrate our children's birthdays, that will occur 1 month prior & 1 month after visiting. Do you have any suggestions on what to do at Magic Kingdom?

March is just around the corner and the Walt Disney World Resort is the ultimate venue for children's birthdays!  As soon as you arrive at Magic Kingdom, be sure to stop by City Hall for your free birthday buttons.  Your child will receive extra special attention and recognition from Cast Members and even characters who will be excited to join in the birthday festivities!

From City Hall, make your way over to the Harmony Barber Shop, where your little ones can receive a complimentary pixie-dusted hair do!  This is a tradition in my family and starts the day off right!

I would also recommend booking an advanced reservation for a character dining experience. Crystal Palace boasts a colorful, whimsical setting and features a tasty buffet with fun options to please even the pickiest birthday boys/girls!  Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore will make their way around to visit with your table which will make for the perfect birthday photo opportunity!

Another great dining experience is Cinderella's Royal Table, located inside Cinderella Castle!  Your guests of honor will be given the royal treatment complete with a visit from some special Disney Princesses!  Be sure to always let the server know you are celebrating a birthday.  The guests of honor will be presented with a special treat.

You can also order a custom cake from the Cake Hotline: (407)824-2165. Disney pastry chefs can create any cake from simple to extravagant. Please call 24-48 hours in advance. Basic birthday cakes are also available to order at the restaurant, so be sure to let a cast member know you're interested when you check-in at the podium.

No matter what you choose to do, the excitement of being in the Magic Kingdom on this special day is sure to make for the best birthday celebration EVER!!! -Amanda
