We are planning a trip to Disney in June 2010. Right now, we are booked at the Caribbean, paying extra for a room close to the pool. Shoud I upgrade to the Beach club? My family will be spending a lot of time at the pool.

    Hello Melissa!

Let me just say that if you plan to spend a lot of time at the pool and the Beach Club fits into your budget, you should definitely go for the upgrade!

Stormalong Bay is such an amazing pool - in my opinion it is the absolute best pool on Disney property. It is three acres with a sand bottom, whirlpools, a really cool pool slide and a sand dune area where kids can build castles and play. Upon check-in, the front desk will give you an itinerary of the pool activities offered each day. There are usually contests and games each day. Once of my favorite things about Stormalong Bay is Beaches and Cream, an old fashioned ice cream parlor that serves burgers, sandwiches and really yummy ice cream concoctions. Beaches and Cream is located right outside of Stormalong Bay, and while you don't have to be a resort guest to eat here, it is great to be able to pop in for a quick lunch while enjoying a day by the pool.

If you decide to stay with your reservation at Caribbean Beach I think you will enjoy the pool area there as well. It has been recently redone with a pirate theme and there is a brand new children's play area with a pirate ship, buckets of water and slides.

Whatever your choice, enjoy planning your vacation!
