We're planning a trip to Disney in Jan, we are planning Animal Kingdom lodge, not familiar with this resort. We want to stay close to dining areas and transportation, so I guess we want our room near main building..Any suggestions

    Hi Michelle,

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We just love assisting guests based on our personal Walt Disney World experiences. I was so excited to see your question, too, as I just returned from staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge just a few days ago. You are going to love this special and unique resort. The views are breathtaking and the resort is full of wonderful dining options and amenities.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge has one main building called Jambo House with all of the rooms. Each of the hallways is considered a "trail". Our room was on the fourth floor of the "Kudo Trail" on the opposite side of the building from Boma, Jiko and The Mara, all three of the dining options. However, it never took more than 5 minutes to take an elevator and walk to get to these. But, if you would like to be on the side of Jambo House as the different restaurants, I would suggest requesting a room on the "Zebra Trail". Please keep in mind that requests cannot be guaranteed and are based on availability upon arrival.

Be sure to try the zebra domes, a sweet treat that the resort is known for. You can find these at both the grab and go section of The Mara (food court) and Boma - Flavors of Africa (table service).

I hope you have a WILD time filled with magical memories.
