We’re planning a trip on the Disney Fantasy cruise. We will have a 1 year old and 4 year old. I keep seeing the fabulous kids clubs but they seem to be for drop off/babysitting only, Is there anywhere you can go to be able to play as family with both kids?

    Hi Sonya!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  I am so glad you sailed by with your question about your upcoming voyage with Captain Mickey!  Boy, oh boy are you going to have the best time!  Your Mouseketeers are at the PERFECT ages to love everything about a Disney Cruise Line vacation!

First things first…you are absolutely right…. the onboard Youth Clubs are INCREDIBLE!  In fact, that is one of the reasons my family continues to go on Disney Cruise Line vacations as our boys enjoy them so much – and so do we!  Of course, we appreciate the opportunity to check them into the Youth Clubs so that my husband and I can enjoy a date night or a relaxing afternoon by the Quiet Cove Pool, but we also love spending time with our boys in the Youth Clubs during the scheduled Open House hours!  Once you get onboard and have access to the daily schedule of activities, you will find that each of the Youth Clubs (aside from the it’s a small world! nursery) offer daily Open House hours where all ages can go and enjoy the spaces!  They will often even have scheduled activities (our favorite is the “Everyone Can Cook” activities) in the spaces during Open House hours so that everyone can join in on the fun!  So, yes!  Use those times to play in those spaces together as a family!

In addition to the Open House hours, you will find that throughout the day there will be plenty of scheduled activities throughout the ship that will give your family the chance to make, do, create and play together – whether it be craft making, movie time, games, dance parties….there is so much to do and it is all so family-centered giving you plenty of opportunities to create some incredible memories.

Make certain you have the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app on your smartphone so that you will have quick access to all the activities throughout your voyage!  I always recommend taking a look at each day’s schedule early in the week so that you can kind of plan ahead for what you want to make sure not to miss!  You can mark activities as “favorites” and will then receive a reminder about the upcoming activity so that you don’t miss out!

Hopefully this information is helpful in planning your FANTAStic adventure at sea, Sonya!  I guarantee you that there will be plenty of opportunities to play and create long-lasting memories with your littles during this vacation!  But, also…do take advantage of the Youth Clubs during non-Open House hours and enjoy some time solo…or with your spouse!

Wishing you the best adventure yet!

    Happy Sailing!
