I am planning my trip to Disney for the end of April 2022. This is the earliest I could book dining reservations so I went on this morning to do so and there is no availability. Suggestions on how to get reservations? And Why there is no availability?

Hey there, Bonnie! Welcome to planDisney!

I’m happy to say you’ve come to the perfect place! As a self-proclaimed Disney foodie, I love chatting all things dining at Walt Disney World. I’m a firm believer that Disney dining is an attraction all on its own!

I can virtually feel the early morning adrenaline rush that comes with booking dining reservations! And it definitely can be disappointing when you find that your favorite restaurants currently have no availability for the exact days and times that you want. The advanced dining reservation window begins 60 days before your arrival date at 5:45 a.m. EST. This means that for an arrival date of April 20, 2022, the reservation window opened the morning of February 19. Whew! With February being a short month that math got a little more complicated than I expected.

Since many of the most popular reservations book up quickly, my recommendation is to continue to check back as availability is always changing! From personal experience, as our trip dates get closer I can usually find a few last-minute reservations. And if you’re like me and like to live life on the edge, don’t forget that dining reservations must be canceled at least 24 hours beforehand to avoid a service charge. So in a last-ditch effort, check back at the 24-hour mark, and you may luck up on a reservation opening!

And if you still find it difficult to find the exact reservations that you want, there are so many amazing dining experiences across the Resort. If you’re open to trying something new, then I’m sure you can find a place that will satisfy your entire crew. Once you get those dining reservations nailed down, you’ll be one step closer to the magic!

I hope this helps, Bonnie! If you have more questions while you plan, stop back by and ask me. After all, you’ve got a friend in me!

    Until Next Time,
