We are planning a trip to Disney 12/8-12/14. We are driving, but want to stay on property. It's my husband and 2 kids (age 8 & 4 - almost 5). What resort do you recommend for that age, tossing up Caribbean and Riverside?

    Hi Jennifer!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.  I think your children would enjoy every resort at Walt Disney World.  They are all wonderful experiences.  Both the Caribbean Beach Resort and Port Orleans Riverside are Disney Moderate Resorts.  Between the two, I would pick Port Orleans Riverside for the following reasons:
    • Port Orleans is my personal favorite Disney Moderate Resort.  It was also selected as a favorite of the panelists on the Walt Disney World Moms Panel in an unofficial poll last year.
    • Caribbean Beach Resort is very large and spread out.  In fact I generally do not recommend guests stay there unless they have their own car
    • Port Orleans Riverside has a lot of nice services and amenities, including boat service to Downtown Disney, carriage rides, and the ability to rent boats
    • Guests staying at Port Orleans Riverside can use all of the services and amenities at Port Orleans French Quarter, including the Port Orleans French Quarter pool

I hope this helps!  By the way, if you decide to go with a Disney Value Resort instead, I recommend staying at Pop Century or the new Disney's Art of Animation Resort.  Write back if you have any more questions!
